As well as is used to join two words or phrases.

Example 1

The warrior was fearless. The warrior was also loyal.

The warrior was fearless as well as loyal

Example 2

Anne collects jade pieces. She collects modern art too.

Anne collects jade pieces as well as modern art.

Take note

The words ‘also’ and ‘too’ are left out in the combined sentence.
