Alvin puts two pots of plants, plant P and plant Q, in a sunny place. He puts one of the plants in a box and cuts a small hole on one side of the box.

Two weeks later, he observes that plant Q is growing towards the small hole. From the observation, he achieves the objectives of this experiment.

(a) What has Alvin found out about plants from his experiment?

(b) What must he do to ensure that plant Q does not die?

(a) He has found out that plants would grow towards the sun to have more sunlight.

(b) He must water it.
