Now, metabolic surgery would allow the body to be able to adjust the level of hormone production in the body. Hormones which raise blood sugar levels are removed and those which decreases blood sugars decreased.

Knee replacement surgery – Surgical robots assist surgeons in the identification of accurate placement in the knee. A CT scan is first done on the patient’s knee and the patient’s knee dimensions are keyed into the computer which will soon figure out what is the best way to align the implants into the patients. This helps to make sure that surgeons do not have to make cuts which are unnecessary to knee replacement. Cancer treatment – To offer more targeted and personalised treatment, it is important for doctors to be able to identify the different types of cancerous cells and target them through treatment. This has been done through immunotherapy  (where drugs bind to rumour cells to destroy them), the release of localised nano-sized radioactive particles (which is in small quantities just sufficient to treat the patient and lower the exposure to radioactive particles) and finally through cancer vaccines which trains the immune system to recognise and destroy factors which cause cancer.
