Perhaps people might be more conscious of their processed meat intake but I don’t think this is serious enough to completely deter consumers from purchasing hams and sausages. Then again, what’s there to guarantee that other food sources are safe for consumption? Pesticide-laden vegetables and fruits, fishes intoxicated with mercury and other unknown chemicals harmful to the body etc.
